On 26 March, Pulau Dewata received an award. The magazine obtained from the Senses in Europe. Some 60,000 readers of Bali declares The Best Destination Spa in the World 2009.

This award recieved at the Wellness Award 2009 in Berlin, Germany, on March 12, received by the Director General of Budpar Sapta Nirwandar, and this day is given to the Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika by Minister Jero Wacik in Wiswa Sabha Building, Denpasar.

Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Spa Mooryati Soedibyo proud, and that this could push up tourist visits. It will motivate the development and standardization of labor in the spa industry.

According to her, a spa in Bali is particularly unique. Bali Governor Mangku Pastika hope, the public does not fall asleep with this award.

Early settlers from Cornwall, England set up a copper mining industry that flourished in the 1800s. The mine closed in 1862 but the ruins including the engine house and chimney are still visible and have been set up as a national park.

The northern reach of the island known as "the North Sound" is accessible by boat only. Here flanked by the smaller islands - Mosquito, Prickly Pear, Eustatia, Necker and tiny Saba Rock, are some of the islands' finest resorts and restaurants. For the 10th time, the Changi airport is the winner. The reasons for its absolute hegemony are simple – free cell phone charging, free tours of the city, alarm clocks on the chairs so you do not miss your flight, a swimming pool, wellness facilities, extensive gardens, a special napping corner, and free movies. One would say it is a pretty cool place to live in, better even than most peoples’ homes! As an added value, the airport is shining clean (this state was reached and has since been preserved by extensive troops of maintenance staff) and very calm and quiet. If you have to change planes on your journey, consider Changi the best waiting and sleeping choice.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

The airport is very nice after you pass the pre-check-in area – do not waste your time here, because the grass really IS greener on the other side. Once you are in the transit area, comfortable chairs, clean toilets and showers, internet access and even a play area so your kids do not get bored. Spending an hour or two is OK, but we would recommend booking a hotel in case you need to stay overnight – the Security is uncompromising and will wake you up every now and then if they find you suspicious or unsuitable.

Athens, Greece

The new Athens airport has the air of luxury – from outside as well as from the inside. In comparison to the other European airports (let’s mention e.g. the very expensive, much expected and even more hated Charles de Gaulle in Paris), Athens offer nice and tidy environs with comfortable seats, internet and clean showers. The “cleaning crew” is very large on this airport and you can always see them run around sweeping and washing – a good sign definitely!

Auckland, New Zealand

The Auckland airport is comparatively small, which makes the atmosphere a kind of cosy. Why? Few announcements, movable chairs and benches, comfortable couches, showers, mini-theatre with lounge chairs. Also, the staff is nice and willing to help. There is one con though – there are very little flight announcements, so you better bring your own alarm clock.

Helsinki, Finland

Even though the city itself is situated “on the edge” of Europe, the local airport is an important one and offers flights to about 120 destinations. Internet is a must for a modern airport and belongs to the free services of Helsinki too. The showers and toilets are clean and there is enough of them. A huge plus is the local personnel – they are very helpful and literally everyone speaks perfect English, so you do not have to search for the Info desk.

Hong Kong, China

The new Hong Kong hub is a modern airport that would like to compete with Singapore and is trying really hard. There are still some imperfections though – the air-conditioning is sometimes too high so you might get cold, some seats are uncomfortable and there are pickpockets around, on the other hand many things got considerably better in the past years – there are kids’ areas, prayer rooms, WiFi internet, massage seats and modern clean bathrooms. Definitely worth visiting!

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

First thing that crosses your mind on entering the airport is “huge”! Not that it is bigger than other south-east Asian ones, but there are far less people here so the space seems disproportionate. And the pros and cons? As for us, the best thing is the traveller’s lounge – you pay bare $17, you get free food, internet, TV and all kinds of things you can possibly think of at the airport (we find mini golf really cool!). There are some cons too – the showers are paid and there are uncomfortable plastic seats without armrests – yet the overall experience is generally positive.

Oslo, Norway

Norway is a very nice country with people who care for their environment, are very tidy and nice. In Oslo, you do not have to be afraid of robbers or pickpockets and you can calmly rest your head without worrying that you might not find your luggage any more after waking up. The benches are comfortable, the lights dimmed at night (very convenient!) and the staff helpful – that is more than you get in most hotels.

Seoul Incheon, South Korea

The word has spread fast that Incheon is a great transit airport with a lot of space to sleep. You can tell by the fact that many people bring their own pillows and blankets and just take a nap almost anywhere. The seats are comfortable and there are enough of them, the internet is free, there are special rooms for children as well as massage room or game room. How about going here for your next holiday?

Vancouver, Canada

The opinions about Vancouver are mixed. Some say it was the best airport to get stuck at, with clean bathrooms, internet and all the comfort. Others complain about the chaos ruling among the Canadian and US flights and not quiet as nice staff as one would expect. Well, I guess everyone will have to try for themselves and make their own decision.

Ski resorts often held liable for all winter sports activities within their boundaries and as such ... take time to make sure the pistes are groomed, the instructors are competent and that any dangerous conditions like heavy snow, ice, and avalanche risks are properly managed.

World Nomads cover does include on-piste snowboarding and skiing, off piste, Terrain Park and skiing and snowboarding provided it is not done in restricted or unsafe areas.

It is very difficult to gauge the risk of injury outside of ski resorts and therefore our underwriters can't easily offer.

You are covered for emergency medical treatment undertaken by qualified resort staff and any air evacuation or road ambulance transport that is required subject to the Emergency Assistance team being contacted and approval given.

Your equipment will also be covered while in official resort storage where a check in is required but is not covered if it is left anywhere where the general public have constant access or where items can be taken without your knowledge, including ski racks (secured or not) or in resort lockers in public areas.

As long as you have taken proper care of it in the first place, you are probably covered. Our insurers take different views on this type of incident. Please check your policy wording for all of the details and to make sure the cover is right for you.
4. Am I covered while I am learning to ski?
Yes, as long as you are within the boundaries of the resort and are being sensible.

Although the metropolitan area of BOSTON has long since expanded to fill the shoreline of Massachusetts Bay, and stretches for miles inland as well, the seventeenth-century port at its heart is still discernible. Forget the neat grids of modern urban America; the twisting streets clustered around Boston Common are a reminder of how the nation started out, and the city is enjoyably human in scale.

Boston was, until 1755, the biggest city in America; as the one most directly affected by the latest whims of the British Crown, it was the natural birthplace for the opposition that culminated in the Revolutionary War. Numerous evocative sites from that era are preserved along the Freedom Trail through downtown. Since then, however, Boston has in effect turned its back on the sea. As the third busiest port in the British Empire (after London and Bristol), it stood on a narrow peninsula. What is now Washington Street provided the only access by land, and when the British set off to Lexington in 1775 they embarked in ships from the Common itself. During the nineteenth century, the Charles River marshlands were filled in to create the posh Back Bay residential area. Central Boston is now slightly set back from the water, separated by the hideous John Fitzgerald Expressway that carries I-93 across downtown. The city has been working on routing the traffic underground and disposing of this eyesore (a project a decade in the making known as "the Big Dig"), though the monumental task won't likely be completed before 2004, much to the frustration of locals.

There is a certain truth in the charge leveled by other Americans that Boston likes to live in the past; echoes of the "Brahmins" of a century ago can be heard in the upper-class drawl of the posher districts. But this is by no means just a city of WASPs: the Irish who began to arrive in large numbers after the Great Famine had produced their first mayor as early as 1885, and the president of the whole country within a hundred years. The liberal tradition that spawned the Kennedys remains alive, fed in part by the presence in the city of more than one hundred universities and colleges, the most famous of which – Harvard University – actually stands in the city of Cambridge, just across the Charles River, and is fully integrated into the tourist experience thanks to the area's excellent subway system.

The slump of the Depression seemed to linger in Boston for years – even in the 1950s, the population was actually dwindling – but these days the place definitely has a rejuvenated feel to it. Quincy Market has served as a blueprint for urban development worldwide, and with its busy street life, imaginative museums and galleries, fine architecture and palpable history, Boston is the one destination in New England there's no excuse for missing.

Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world (after Mount Everest and K2), with an elevation of 8,586 metres (28,169 ft). Kangchenjunga translated means "The Five Treasures of Snows", as it contains five peaks, four of them over 8,450 metres. The treasures represent the five repositories of god, which are gold, silver, gems, grain, and holy books. Kangchenjunga is also called Sewalungma in local Limbu language and considered sacred in Kirant religion.

Three of these five peaks (main, central, and south) are on the border of North Sikkim district of Sikkim, India and Taplejung District of Nepal, while the other two are completely in Taplejung District. Nepal is home to the Kangchenjunga Conservation Area Project run by the World Wildlife Fund , in association with HMG in Nepal, the sanctuary is also home to the Red Panda and other snow animals, birds and plants. India's side of Kangchenjunga also has a protected park area called the Khangchendzonga National Park.

Although Kangchenjunga is the official spelling adopted by Douglas Freshfield, A.M. Kellas, and the Royal Geographical Society that gives the best indication of the Tibetan pronunciation, there are a number of alternative spellings which include Kangchen Dzö-nga, Khangchendzonga, Kanchenjanga, Kachendzonga, Kanchenjunga or Kangchanfanga. The final word on the use of the name Kangchenjunga came from His Highness Sir Tashi Namgyal, the Maharaja or chogyal of Sikkim, who stated that "although junga had no meaning in Tibetan, it really ought to have been Zod-nga (treasure, five) Kang-chen (snow, big) conveyed the meaning correctly". Following consultations with a Lieutenant-Colonel J.L.R. Weir (HMG political agent to Sikkim), he agreed that it was best to leave it as Kangchenjunga, and thus the name remained so by acceptance and usage.

Until 1852, Kangchenjunga was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world, but calculations made by the British Great Trigonometric Survey in 1849 came to the conclusion that Mount Everest (known as Peak XV at the time) was the highest and Kangchenjunga the third-highest.Kangchenjunga was first climbed on May 25, 1955 by Joe Brown and George Band of a British expedition. The British expedition honoured the beliefs of the Sikkimese, who hold the summit sacred, by stopping a few feet short of the actual summit. Most successful summit parties since then have followed this tradition.
